CUSTOM DESIGN & PROTOTYPING / ACROSS MAKES

Bring the problem. Not a CAD file.

Missing, broken, or something the car never had. Let’s see if a 3D-printed part is the right answer.

SMALL PROBLEMS WORTH SOLVING

What could we work on?

Examples, not products. Each project gets its own checks.

01SOMETHING MISSING

A small part. A big nuisance.

A broken interior piece or trim nobody sells. We start from an original, or measure what remains.

Discuss a missing part
02SOMETHING MORE USEFUL

An idea the car never had.

Storage or a practical addition, designed for your car. An original design, not a fake OEM part.

Discuss an improvement
03SOMETHING TO ADAPT

A useful idea. Your car.

An existing design reworked for your space. Fit still gets checked on your car.

Pre-2000 · Unbranded · Non-safety-critical. No brakes, steering or structural parts.

A CONVERSATION. A PLAN. THEN THE WORK.

Know what you’re
getting into.

You talk to the person doing the design. No technical brief, no automatic quote.

A closer look at the development process ↗
  1. 01

    Tell me the problem.

The car, what you want to solve and what you can get to. First question: is there a sensible route?

  2. 02

    Agree the work and cost.

Scope, prototypes, checks and timing, agreed up front. Sometimes a small paid feasibility step comes first.

  3. 03

    Develop. Check. Decide.

Measure the real interface, prototype, test, decide. A finished part only when the evidence supports it.

BASED IN NH’S LAKES REGION

Start online.
Meet by arrangement.

Visits across the Seacoast and Lakes Region of New Hampshire and Maine help with measuring and fit checks. Further away, we find another way to get the measurements.

Please ask before posting a part.

BEFORE YOU ASK

Fair questions.
Straight answers.

Is this only for Supras?

No. The Supra is where OCP3D started. Any make or model is welcome, within pre-2000, unbranded, non-safety-critical parts.

Do I need drawings, a CAD file or an intact original?

No. Tell me the car and the problem. A broken original helps; if it’s gone, we measure what it attached to. Photos explain, but they can’t give fit dimensions.

What does a custom part cost?

It’s paid work, priced on measuring, design, prototypes and checks, not just the plastic. You get a quote with stop points before anything starts. An enquiry costs nothing.

How long will it take?

It depends on access to the part, complexity and testing. You’ll get proposed stages and timing before you agree to anything.

Do I have to be nearby?

No. Start online. I visit across the Seacoast and Lakes Region of New Hampshire and Maine by arrangement; further away we plan measuring together. Please ask before posting a part.

What if printing is not the right answer?

I’ll say so. Sometimes a spare or a repair is better. Brakes, steering and structural parts are out of scope, and a prototype isn’t automatically road-ready.
